“This colored ink artwork was originally made for the cover of my art book Once, compiling illustrations from October 2017. Up until that point I rarely included fully rendered backgrounds in my illustrations, and rectifying that was my goal for the month! 


Being a book cover, the composition needed two focal points on opposite sides of the piece, and room for a harmonious cover design. This soft pink and purple color scheme isn’t very common in my works, but I think I will be revisiting it in the future.”
