“I used Saiboku Shimbi ink sticks for this piece, and I found their vibrant color shades and intensity interesting to work with. These days I tend to concentrate more on scenes than characters, so this piece with its strong focus on the the character lying in the field of dandelions stands out. The composition is quite calm, but the colors give the painting depth and interesting intensity.”
