“This pink haired character in this colored ink illustration appeared frequently in my work around and after October 2017. During that period I also started experimenting more with fully rendered backgrounds in my paintings, and that together with the limited use of line work gives this piece a painterly feel. I wanted the name and open composition to direct the viewer towards the underlying story of this character and the cloak they could disappear under at any time, without hinting at a specific interpretation.”
