“This watercolor illustration was originally painted for the 2021 Mermay exhibition at Gallery Nucleus. For this piece I chose a lighter painting technique with more gaps, to emulate the patchy and playful lighting of a forest. The gentle steam from the water together with the calm, natural greens and warm orange hues of the foliage brings tranquility to this comfortable early autumn scene.”
