"This was the very first piece I completed for my solo show at Gallery Nucleus. The inspiration for this piece came from Japanese folklore around tanuki and their shapeshifting abilities. I’m quite pleased with the depth and contrast in this poster color illustration, and I’m especially happy with the bamboo leaves! I tend to lean towards turquoise and Prussian blue in my works, so this almost blueberry ultramarine was a nice change of pace."
