“I created this painting originally for Kuretake, using their Gansai Tambi watercolors. The delicate line art and warm color scheme give this piece a mellow feeling, and allowed me to really indulge in the small details of this up-and-coming postal office’s daily operations. I like the idea of different birds carrying messages to different destinations based on their natural migration routes, so I couldn’t resist including some black-headed gulls to carry long distance mail.”
